Hammock Fiesta With Monica Multer
How long have you been hammocking?
How did you get started with hammocking?
I saw a group of students on UC Berkeley’s campus Hammocking beneath the Campanile (clocktower) and just new I had to join the party. Since then my friends and I have hammock parties every chance we get.
You have so many incredible hammock adventures, do you have a favorite place?
Dream Lake is one my favorite places in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hanging up a hammock almost two miles above sea level where the sun shines strong and the air is crisp is magical. Another favorite spot is in the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park. The long hanging moss and arching canopy of ancient trees makes it feel like you have traveled back in time to the dinosaur ages.
One a scale of 1-10 how much do you freakin’ LOVE hammocks?
What do you think hammocks will look like in 20 years? 100 years?
I think hammocks will no longer have straps to hang up on; instead, there will be levitation attachments so you can have your hammock float anywhere you like. Also you can take your hammock up as high as you want without the worry of setting up or getting into your hammock.
If you could hang up your hammock anywhere in the world where would it be?
I would hammock in the Dolomites. But really I would be happy to hammock anywhere with a view.
What are your go to hammock accessories?
Simple. Just my straps and my hammock. Nothing fancy
Do you represent a particular hammock brand or are you constantly searching for innovative products?
I am constantly searching for new products
Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
I love to keep my hammock in my little backpack everywhere I go; not just because I want to hang up somewhere but also because it makes me look at every location I visit as possible places of relaxation and beauty.
It is so easy to rush through things to get to the next destination but thinking about Hammocking makes me look at everything in a new light.
Every spot has potential and every spot breathes peace and relaxation.
