Built in 1890, the 2,376 feet Walnut Street Bridge was the first bridge to connect Chattanooga, Tennessee’s downtown with the North Shore. Edwin Thacher was the chief engineer.

Address: 1 Walnut St, Chattanooga, TN 37403, United States
Opened: 1890
Total length: 724 m (~2,375 feet)
Construction started: 1889
Bridge type: Truss bridge

The team at Color Cloud Hammocks put together a Flashmob on the Walnut Street Bridge via a Facebook Event!

“Join the Hammock Flash Mob! We’re looking for 90-100 people to help us hang hammocks down the length of Walnut Street Bridge! Hammock ownership is not required!”

Overall it was a great success, but the city was not impressed. They now fine anyone hanging hammocks on the bridge $50.00! ūüėĶ¬†(Let the homies hang!)

Overall it was a fun event and the hammocking folks from Chattanooga at stoked for another one like it.
